What is a Partial Hospitalization program (PHP)?
At Compass Recovery West, our commitment is to help you discover the path to lasting recovery. We begin by assessing your current mental and physical health. Once we have a comprehensive understanding of the situation, we tailor each client’s treatment plan to address their specific needs and circumstances. Some individuals need the longer hours we offer through our PHP.
PHP provides a structured outpatient experience with more freedom than a traditional inpatient rehab center. Our clients return home at the end of each day. This unique approach ensures our clients receive essential treatment and the support of their family and friends. Our focus is on providing the care and support needed to build a healthy, happy future.
What Types of Therapeutic Approaches Could Be Part of a Partial Hospitalization program?
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to substance use disorder treatment. At Compass Recovery West, we pride ourselves on creating unique recovery programs for each client in our program. Our PHP programming includes:
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT): CBT identifies and changes negative thought patterns that may contribute to destructive behaviors such as substance abuse.
- Dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT): DBT is a form of CBT that helps clients cope with negative emotions and stress in a healthy way.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI): MI helps individuals resolve ambivalence and find the motivation to change through therapeutic techniques.
Different treatment modalities work for different individuals. At Compass Recovery West, we offer multiple holistic and evidence-based treatment approaches so that every client can develop the tools they need to achieve sustained recovery.
Are There Additional Therapeutic Methods Used in PHP?
In addition to evidence-based practices, Compass Recovery West offers meditation, mindfulness, yoga and other holistic practices. Many clients utilize these holistic therapies as part of their daily recovery program. Presenting our clients with many different practices, therapies and fellowships such as 12-step programs ensure that every individual finds modalities that work with their own unique circumstances. After PHP, Clients will transition to their daily life successfully using the tools and practices they have learned at Compass recovery West.
